However, for various--rather depressing--reasons, I no longer automatically friend people who friend me. If you'd like me to friend you, I'd appreciate if you'd drop me a PM or comment on a post.

All things concerning LOTR--the Professor's creation of a fictional world as well as the fanfiction which fills in the gaps--interest me, but the Elves of Lothlórien have a special place in my heart, as you will probably have noticed by now.
I discovered fanfic in early 2007 and began to write in the autumn--a Haldir-centered story which still isn't finished--but, as I'm ESL and furthermore rather new to writing (never even considered writing fiction until 2007), there is still so much for me to learn which is why most of the stuff on this LJ has not been posted on an archive.
That my writing ever progressed to a stage where I felt some of it could be posted without completely embarrassing me is mainly due to a writer's forum; I cannot even begin to describe my gratitude for the help and encouragement I've received from the GoI gang.
My background? Well, I've been a Tolkien fan for many, many years; I've got a family, full-time job, house, garden, pets ... and I spend way too much time in front of my comp.
